Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's historic Palestine visit, President Mahmoud Abbas said he will discuss with him India's role in the Middle East peace process and the creation of a multilateral forum of negotiations to strike a final deal with Israel.

From New Delhi, PM Modi will travel to the Jordanian capital Amman and take a chopper ride to reach the Palestinian city of Ramallah a little over 100 km away.

The visit will also de-hyphenate Israel and Palestine after Modi's standalone visit to Israel last July.

India-UAE ties were elevated to that of a Comprehensive and Strategic Partnership during Modi's visit in 2015.

On his arrival here, Modi was received by Jordan Prime Minister Hani Al-Mulki. "In both Oman and the UAE, I will have the opportunity to meet the large Indian diasporas that have made those countries their home".

He would also interact with leading businesspersons of Oman on developing stronger economic and business links with India.
