Nokia 8 Android 8.1 Oreo stable update now rolling out

Updating your device today will enable a host of new features.

HMD Global have announced a temporary cut to the asking price for last year's flagship Nokia 8 smartphone. The new update brings all the Android 8.1 features introduced by Google such as new settings menu, revamped power menu, Bluetooth Battery percentage display, and so on.

"Be our guest as we serve Android Oreo 8.1 beta for Nokia 8". As per the latest Android distribution chart, only 0.3 per cent of all active Android smartphones have received the update. For the unaware, Google released the Android 8.1 Oreo update to its Pixel and Nexus devices back at the end of December 2017. Android 8.0 Oreo doesn't look that great as well as it accounts for only 0.8 per cent of all active devices.

Talking about the upcoming phones, the Nokia 1 is likely to be an entry-level smartphone and add to the series with Nokia 2, Nokia 3, Nokia 5, and others already available in the market. Still, Nokia 8 users should be pleased the company is keeping its promise of providing timely Android updates. The India launch of the new line of Nokia phones thus should not come as a surprise.
