Microsoft has noted in a blog post that presently the Ultimate Performance power scheme is not available on battery-powered systems, including notebooks and tablets.

This isn't the only exciting feature bundled into the Windows 10 Insider Preview Build. The Ultimate Performance Power plan is selectable either by an OEM on new systems or selectable by a user. Only a small number of Windows 10 devices might encounter error 0x80070bc2 or 0x80070422 when attempting to install the cumulative update. Plus, Microsoft will now allow you to find an emoji by keyword in over 150 locales. It has special power management features which will make sure that performance and efficiency tradeoffs in the OS are minimized for the absolute best performance. With ultimate performance unleashed, it will eliminate "micro-latencies" and provide 100% performance. The new program - information about which leaked over this past weekend - allows Windows Insider testers to opt in to preview individual apps, rather than having to be part of the "Skip Ahead" ring to get the latest app updates. Unfortunately, that sounds quite tiresome, so Microsoft has chose to call its new mode "Ultimate Performance", which should get your IT department all hot and bothered. To submit feedback please use the Feedback Hub and file your feedback under Power & Battery Setting category. That's a subset of Windows Insider membership, which has offered the bleeding-edge of Windows 10 versions for desktop and server users willing to test out code that's a little more raw.

Microsoft has also announced that it is building a behavioral based Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) functionality to "give security teams rich insights into threats on their endpoints".
