Stock vehicle racing's most successful female driver fell victim to a multi-car crash at the Daytona 500 on Sunday in what she had already announced would be her final race on the popular American circuit. And although the NASCAR star eventually confirmed her romance with the Green Bay Packers quarterback, there still was one very important matter to take care of. The 103 laps she finished Sunday was the fewest amount in her short career at Daytona International Speedway.

Patrick earned seven top-10 finishes and one pole coming in 2013 when she finished eighth in the race. She owns the most starts, laps led, and top 10s among women in NASCAR history.

While Patrick has drawn support from her fans across the country, NASCAR's first woman to lead at Daytona will have a little extra motivation this time around.

"That's the gamble with Daytona", Patrick said of the crash.

Patrick plans to race in her final IndyCar race at the Indianapolis Speedway on May 27. "And I say that because we're all competitors, and it's hard for us - even if we try going in to just enjoy the experience - it's hard for us to not get competitive and not want to do our best".

Before the race, Patrick posted a picture with her Super Bowl Champion boyfriend and family.

"Doing Daytona with all the people that mean the most to me", she wrote in the caption. "It is not a stock vehicle, but still have one more".
