Our Prime Minister of country Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of the long overdue airport project at Navi Mumbai on Sunday.

"We are working with a focused approach our government had the honour of bringing an aviation policy that is transforming the sector", he said, adding and slammed the previous non-BJP governments of "latkana, atkana, patkana" (delays, roadblocks and junking) involving infrastructure projects. He said the sector is growing tremendously and thus making quality infrastructure in the aviation sector is important.

He added that a strong aviation sector also gives more economic opportunities. Mr. Modi informed that the government has ordered about 900 new airplanes in the past year as compared to the 450 airplanes now operational. The project is going to be implemented 21 years after it was first proposed.

Modi said projects worth Rs 10 lakh crore are stuck as the previous governments did not finish it on time.
