A deep weather trough is now located over the western USA leading to record cold temperatures in the west and record warm temperatures in the east. "Even in a normal winter, these temperatures would be very cool". The old record was 69 degrees set in 1930. The average high for this time of year would be in the low 70's but we just about hit that for our morning low.

AccuWeather is forecasting a high of 68 today, while the National Weather Service is predicting a high of 70.

The eastern seaboard conditions are combining with a strong flow of warm air stretching from Texas into the Tennessee and OH valleys and up into western Pittsburgh, Darnley said.

Rainfall totals on Wednesday are expected to be between ⁄10 inch and ¼ inch. "Highs will be upper 30s, low 40s on Friday, which is fairly normal".

Showers, freezing rain and potential snowfall is on deck for Thursday, according to the Natioanl Weather Service, though no accumulation is expected.
