This was something we had heard about for a while.

"Each time a map concludes during a live broadcast, eligible viewers will earn a League Token", reads the announcement. In addition to giving tokens away, viewers can now unlock loot by Cheering with Bits on Twitch.

Blizzard has officially announced that you can earn Overwatch League tokens by just watching the Overwatch League.
