With the team having shown strong vehicle development during 2017 while also undergoing further expansion of its workforce and facilities, Renault Sport Racing president Jerome Stoll is confident the latest auto will see the French constructor continue to close the gap to the top three teams.

Renault are the fifth team to reveal their 2018 challenger - the R.S 18 - following an online launch on Tuesday afternoon.

Renault, who have Germany's Nico Hulkenberg and Spaniard Carlos Sainz as their driver line-up, last won the championship with Spaniard Fernando Alonso in 2006. Furthermore, improvements have been made to Renault's Enstone factory in the a year ago, allowing the expanded team to put their affluence to good use. It'll be powered by a 1.6-liter turbocharged V6 Renault R.W. 18 engine developed jointly by teams in England and France and also supplied to the McLaren and Red Bull Racing teams. We have two very talented and ambitious drivers.

How much progression has been seen at Enstone over the past two years? Renault made considerable progress in 2017 improving from ninth to sixth place in the 2017 constructors' standings, and the team is expected to improve its ranking further this year. Investment in drivers Nico Hülkenberg and Carlos Sainz Jr. will secure the team the talent necessary to win with a competitive chassis, which the team's managing director Cyril Abiteboul says will not arrive until next year.

"The success of the program in just two years is testament to the resilient plan laid down early in the creation of the team and the strong job done by Cyril [Abiteboul] and the entire Renault Sport Racing teams".
