A source revealed to The Sun: "Ariana desperately wanted to come, she was so ill but she still wanted to get on the plane".

The American pop star was due to take to the stage at the ceremony as part of a tribute for the victims of the attack that took place at her concert in May a year ago.

Ariana has met with numerous families of the victims of the attack, with a surprise appearance at the event set to serve as another heartfelt tribute to those that died.
