Cheryl Tweedy addresses Liam Payne split rumours on BBC Breakfast

Asked whether it is frustrating to see stories about her private life, Cheryl, dressed in a camel-coloured coat, blue polo neck and jeans, told BBC Breakfast: "No, it doesn't bother me at all because my focus is exclusively on this. And they do care for each other so it's now a matter of seeing if there's a final way forward to try and make it work".

Shaking her head, she replied: "None of that matters, this is what is important for me".

Only this week it's been reported that the pair, who have been together for two years, are about to go their separate ways and would have already done so if it wasn't for their 11-month-old boy, Bear.

While visiting her hometown of Newcastle, Cheryl was questioned by one member of the paparazzi, asking, "Are you and Liam okay?"

The star developed and was treated for malaria in 2010, the same year that her once fairytale marriage to footballer Ashley Cole ended.

Speaking live on BBC Breakfast earlier, the star also said of the rumours: 'Do I find it frustrating?

Liam has been touring the U.S. and recently spent time in NY promoting his new single For You, a duet with Rita Ora.
