'Crisis actors?' No, say Douglas High students

On Wednesday, YouTube had replaced one link to a video about Hogg as an actor with a notice saying it violated the site's policy on harassment and bullying, but other videos remained.

Despite the removal of the video, a YouTube search for "David Hogg" done by Fox News still shows several videos that appear to portray Hogg as an actor and not as a survivor of a school shooting that left 17 people dead.

An aide to a Florida legislator was sacked Tuesday after claiming two survivors of a Florida high school shooting who spoke to CNN were not students, but instead "actors that travel to various crisis when they happen". "I'm trying to be as well spoken as possible because these politicians won't", he said.

Hogg was interviewed by CBS News in Los Angeles about a year ago, after a video he filmed went viral.

YouTube said the video slipped through the cracks because the source material was from a credible news organization. "Because the video contained footage from an authoritative news course, our system misclassified it". Any video flagged to us that violates this policy is reviewed and then removed.

US Senator Marco Rubio came to the student's defense on Twitter saying: 'Claiming some of the students on TV after Parkland are actors is the work of a disgusting group of idiots with no sense of decency'.

On Wednesday morning, it took a much darker tone, with the No.1 spot held by a video accusing David Hogg, a survivor from last week's deadly school shooting in Florida, of being a "crisis actor". With more and more people smearing him and claiming he's part of some conspiracy theory, David isn't paying them any mind.

David Hogg discounted the conspiracy theory on CNN on Tuesday.

"I'm not a crisis actor, I'm someone who had to witness this and live through this and I continue to be having to do that", he said in the interview.

NewsAlert: Canada's Brady Leman wins gold in Olympic men's skicross
Canada's Brady Leman finished first winning the gold medal, followed by Switzerland's Marc Bischofberger who took silver. Brady Leman won the men's ski cross to secure Canada's ninth gold medal of the 2018 Winter Olympics.

The story's content alleged: "David Hogg is a school shooting survivor in Florida".

Hogg also commented on the president's tweet blaming the Federal Bureau of Investigation for the mass shooting at the Parkland school.

The activist student's CNN remarks came after Benjamin Kelly, an aide to Florida Representative Shawn Harrison (R), was sacked for sending an email to a reporting alleging that Hogg and fellow Stoneman Douglas student Emma Gonzalez are "actors", CNN reports.

Shortly afterwards, Hogg's name appeared again in the trending section of Facebook, after the social media network was similarly used to share conspiracy videos.

"I'm not a crisis actor", he told CNN's Anderson Cooper on Tuesday.

Trump Jr.'s promotion of these conspiracies on Twitter is just the latest in the right wing's quick about-face from "thoughts and prayers" to outright attacks on the innocent kids who walked away from a killing field in their high school and are now fighting to prevent another from ever occurring again.

"I was a witness to this".
