The Diamondbacks agreed to trade Drury to the Yankees on Tuesday as part of a three-team deal with the Rays, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports. The Yankees will also be sending prospects Nick Solak and Taylor Widener to the Rays and Diamondbacks, respectively.

Souza helps fill a power void in Arizona's outfield created by Martinez's departure.

Drury averaged.267 with 13 HR and 63 RBI last season in Arizona and will likely be the role player the Yankees need in the infield.

"This guy can play", the scout said of Drury per Randy Miller of After having not hit more than six home runs in two seasons with those very same Diamondbacks, Gregorius has had a 20 and 25 home-run campaign in the last two years in NY. As a rookie in 2016, he hit.282 with 16 homers. He's 23, and last season he pitched in the High-A Florida State League. "He has dreams to be even more and our pro scouting department has those same visions, so we're playing on those dreams right now".

Drury is scheduled to work out with the Yankees on Thursday.

He said that if he believed an assault weapons ban "would have prevented this from happening, I would have supported it". A National Rifle Association spokeswoman accused the media of loving mass shootings because they boost viewership.

Drury had a nice season for the D-Backs a year ago and can play a number of positions. "I think all those things will serve him well". As part of the deal, Brandon Drury will head to the Bronx and one of the D-Backs' top prospects, left-hander Anthony Banda, will pack his bags and head to Port Charlotte, Florida, to join the Rays.

Ultimately, the Diamondbacks got the best out of this trade.

The play of highly-touted prospects Miguel Andújar and Gleyber Torres will determine the other spot for the Yankees. Ronald Torreyes, Tyler Wade, and free-agent signing Jace Peterson are all options for Yankees at those positions too. In 100 games at the Class-A level, he led the Florida State League with a.397 on-base percentage and ranked second in batting avg.

Because he is not yet eligible for arbitration, Drury will make close to the major-league minimum, giving the Yankees more flexibility to spend on pitching later this spring - or later this season - without endangering their goal of staying below the $197 million luxury tax threshold.

Cashman said he and scouts see Drury as "a player on the verge of blossoming", per Mike Mazzeo of the New York Daily News.
