Under a nonprofit called the Coalition for Internet Openness, the companies said they filed a petition with the Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit today requesting the court review the FCC's decision. He further added taking swipe at president Trump for allegedly favoring corporates, "a clear case of the Trump administration favoring powerful corporate interests over the interests of millions of Washingtonians and Americans".

Washington Attorney General Bob Ferguson, along with attorneys general from 21 other states and the District of Columbia, reportedly plan to sue over the FCC's repeal of net neutrality rules.

The law, signed Monday and effective on June 6, will prohibit internet service providers from blocking legal content, applications, services or non-harmful devices.

CNET reports that the bill was signed into law yesterday. Attorneys general in almost two dozen states, joined by public interest groups and internet companies, have sued to overturn the repeal.

Last month, the Oregon House of Representatives passed a bill requiring state and local government to acquire only broadband access from companies complying with Net-neutrality standards. The tone-deaf celebration was a pretty hollow attention seeking move, but was also an ouroboros of blistering idiocy. It will also prevent them from impairing internet traffic.

The governors of Montana, New York, New Jersey, Hawaii, and Vermont have signed executive orders banning state agencies from doing business with broadband providers that don't promise to uphold the principles of net neutrality. "We know that when D.C. fails to act, Washington state has to do so", according to Gov. Inslee, who steps in on a long and proud tradition of states defying D.C. on various undertakings they don't agree with.

Last month, the FCC officially published its repeal of the rules, which started a 60-day clock.

"This is not a partisan issue", said Norma Smith, a Republican who co-sponsored the bill.

"There should not be a state-by-state patchwork of differing laws and regulations", he said in a written statement.

The FCC went forward with its repeal of net neutrality protections in December despite the fact that some polls showed the overwhelming majority of voters supported keeping the rules.
