USA intelligence agencies have concluded that Russian Federation interfered in the 2016 election to boost then-Republican candidate Donald Trump over Hillary Clinton.

President Donald Trump said Tuesday that he's not anxious that Moscow will meddle in the upcoming midterm elections because the US will take steps to prevent it.

Director of National Intelligence Daniel Coats told the Senate Armed Services Committee that Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin "very shortly will be bringing out a list of sanctions on those individuals that had been complicit" in the cyber measures described in the charges announced by special counsel Robert Mueller's office, and that the list also would go beyond those 13 names in the indictment.

Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats today said White House officials are engaged on cybersecurity issues, but agreed with lawmakers that the federal government has yet to develop an effective strategy for deterring and responding to cyber attacks by foreign adversaries.

"North Korea has clearly expressed its intention for denuclearization on the Korean Peninsula, and if there is no military threat, and North Korea's regime security is promised, they have clarified that there is no reason to hold nuclear weapons", South Korean President Moon Jae-in said in a statement.

Coats noted that according to USA intelligence, China is in the midst of a massive spending spree aimed at courting foreign governments, to establish a firm geostrategic position and increase global influence.

The indictment prompted a wave of partisan finger-pointing, as Republicans accused the Obama administration of having been too soft on Russian Federation, while Democrats excoriated the Trump administration for not taking decisive steps to punish or repudiate Moscow's efforts to interfere in an American election.

Speaking about global cyber security, the USA intelligence community says that Russia, China, Iran, and North Korea will pose the greatest cyber threats to the United States during the next year. "This is a high priority for them", he said.

Democrats also have criticized Trump for not doing more to punish Russian Federation for its activities during the 2016 election. "He has said 'I assume you're doing your job, all of you who head up these agencies relative to cyber".

"When are we going to expect an actual cyber plan from this administration?" "We're working with states and local election officials", he said. We continue to see Russian activities created to exacerbate social and political figures in the United States.
