Sister Catherine lived in the convent in Los Feliz with another nun for four decades and, in 2015, she'd tried to sell the property to restaurant owner Dana Hollister, who meant to turn the convent into a hotel.

The two parties were Katy Perry, and restaurant owner Dana Hollister.

Hours before her death, Holzman spoke to local media, decrying the ruling clearing the way for the archdiocese of Los Angeles to sell the convent to Perry. "She had nothing to do with forcing herself on us". Instead, the sisters wanted to sell the property to Hollister who meant to turn the convent into a boutique hotel.

The nuns lived in the convent from the early 1970s until 2011 and say they are the rightful owners of the property.

Sister Catherine Rose Holzman, 89, collapsed and died during legal proceedings over a hillside convent in Los Feliz worth millions, reported FOX 11. "It's not doing anyone any good except hurting a lot of people", according to the gossip site.

The legal battle, which has spanned three years now, began when Perry put in an offer to purchase the convent as she wanted to transform it into a home and rehearsal studio.

"We extend our prayers today to the Immaculate Heart of Mary community and to all her friends and loved ones".

Katy Perry, meanwhile, is busily promoting ABC's reboot of the singing competition American Idol, on which she is a judge. Holzman later added, "And to Katy Perry, please stop". However, the sisters preferred Hollister's offer as it was more at $15.5 million and they had a stronger bond with her.
