Kate McKinnon did double duty in Saturday Night Live's cold open this week reprising her portrayal of White House Special Council Robert Mueller while also playing him as "The Bachelor" in what might be the most hard breakup ever.

In the same way that Arie leaves Becca for the other Bachelor finalist, Mueller leaves collusion to instead pursue obstruction of justice charges.

In the real world in recent weeks, Mueller's investigation on the Trump campaign has taken a shift toward obstruction, as opposed to Russian collusion.

"The reality is that I don't think I can give you everything that you want right now", McKinnon's Mueller nervously admitted to Kufrin, mirroring Luyendyk's comments from the finale.

"So, uh, you know that I've been struggling a little bit over the last few months just trying to figure this whole thing out and just grasp everything", McKinnon's Mueller says.

Strong is disbelieving, noting that Mueller has indicted 13 Russians and mentioning a mysterious meeting between a Trump associate and a Russian fund manager in the Seychelles. "Oh my God, I have to wait two more years for him to be out of office?" she continues.

California police officer killed, another wounded by suspect barricaded inside home
A sheriff's SWAT team remained on scene Saturday morning where the gunman was still believed to be barricaded inside an apartment. LASD SWAT and crisis negotiators had spent the night trying to negotiate with the suspect to surrender.

"Honestly, probably six", McKinnon's Mueller said.

As McKinnon prepares to leave, she points out that the alternative would be Vice President Mike Pence and asks whether Strong owns American steel.

The events of this sketch drew up on the dramatic events of the March 5 finale of "The Bachelor" in which Luyendyk was shown to have first proposed to Becca K., only to have a change of heart after the season wrapped.

Amid the drama, Mueller slipped a sliver of hope to heal her broken heart.

The skit depicted special counsel Robert Mueller as the Bachelor himself, as he tries to gently let down finalist Becca K. Through a split screen hilariously capturing them both, Becca says, "Collusion is the only thing I've been looking for for the past year".

"If it makes you feel any better, the Kush is cooked and you're the next Bachelorette", he added, referencing Trump's son-in-law and senior White House adviser.
