QB Case Keenum intends to sign with Broncos, sources say

Keenum has been allowed to hit the open market by the Vikings despite leading them to the NFC championship game last season.

Quarterback Case Keenum, who guided the Minnesota Vikings to the brink of the Super Bowl last season, is expected to sign with the Broncos when free agency opens Wednesday, according to several reports.

With Keenum leaving, could Kirk Cousins land in Minnesota?

All three quarterbacks were draft picks by Elway, the Hall of Fame quarterback who has only had success at quarterback in free agency. He's now been in the league for eight seasons, all with Denver, and that will continue with the 2018 season.

Trevor Siemian, Brock Osweiler and Paxton Lynch all started games for the Broncos, the latter pair failing to win in any of their appearances in a miserable first year for head coach Vance Joseph.

Only the winless Cleveland Browns threw more interceptions than the Broncos' 22, and Denver had just one receiver catch more than 50 passes and finish with more than 560 yards receiving - Demaryius Thomas with 83 catches and 949 yards. That being said, we can get better in a lot of areas, like protecting the quarterback, continuing to run the football better and to play dominant defense.

Allen Robinson And Bears Free Agency Review
After seeing him land $ 32 million on day two of the legal tampering period, it's fair to say they may have been right. A speedy receiver such as Gabriel should also contrast nicely with Robinson, who isn't as much of a downfield threat.

Despite his swings and misses at QB before, Elway said, "Believe me, I'm not done swinging and missing". Justin Pugh and Weston Richburg are among the best offensive linemen remaining in free agency and can both play two different positions.

Siemian, Lynch and Chad Kelly, a seventh-rounder past year who sat out his rookie season with injuries, remain on the roster. I'll take that a step further: Since Sammy Watkins and Allen Robinson are both off the board, Elway can also invest in the front five.

Elway had said early in the offseason "for us to have a chance to get better we have to get better at that position". In doing so, it triggers the last two years of his deal.

"There were some things we should have done differently that we didn't do". I feel like we can get right back in the thick of the things rather quickly.

But Keenum's arrival means the likely exit of another quarterback on the Broncos' roster.
