Philadelphia Eagles tight end Trey Burton intends to sign a four-year deal with the Chicago Bears, a source told ESPN's Josina Anderson. In addition to Burton, the Bears added Allen Robinson to their talent-bare pass-catching corps on Tuesday.

This is a massive contract for an undrafted free agent (2014) who had 63 catches in 61 career regular-season games for the Eagles.

Following the first Super Bowl win in franchise history, the Philadelphia Eagles were expected to undergo a few changes to the roster given their salary cap situation. In 2016, he caught 37 passes for 327 yards and 1 touchdown. For the Gators, Burton played tight end, wide receiver, fullback, and quarterback.

As I stated when discussing Robinson, I still don't think the Bears are done adding playmakers to their offense.

Burton was involved in the "Philly special" play that catapulted the Eagles to the Super Bowl title over the New England Patriots.

Burton will join Chicago's 2017 second-round pick, tight end Adam Shaheen, to give Bear quarterback Mitch Trubisky two tight end targets. Burton may only have five career starts to his name, but Week 14 last season was the flawless example of what he's capable of after filling in for the injured Ertz by catching five passes for 71 yards with two scores.
