With all eyes on the upcoming final installment of HBO's "Game of Thrones" Season 8, the network is already looking ahead to how it will continue the world of Westeros with a spin-off series after the flagship show takes its final bow.

At an INTV conference in Jerusalem on Tuesday, HBO's Francesca Orsi gave a suggestion that may cause worldwide fan upset - characters that survived until the last season will die "one by one".

"From a budget standpoint going into season two of Big Little Lies without any options in place we've been... um... short of raped", Orsi said, according to Deadline.

"We can't obviously start with the budget of season 8 but would it be a Game of Thrones season 3 budget?" "We are going big".

She said: 'None of the cast had received the scripts prior, and one by one they started to fall down to their deaths'. But Orsi said there were tears after the final six scripts were read.

Orsi went on to say that after the reading of the final sex scripts, the cast stood up and applauded for 15 to 20 minutes. "Game of Thrones" Season 8 is now expected to drop in 2019. HBO first announced its partnership with four writers on four different spinoffs last May. HBO has up to five Game of Thrones spin-off planned that it hopes to greenlight, as soon as the network figure out how to budget for them.

Game of Thrones has been killing off characters with increasing regularity as it barrels toward its conclusion, so it's not remotely surprising to hear it'll keep up that pace in the final season. However, none have been picked up to series yet, meaning they could all end up as crumpled piles of paper in a waste basket.
