Patriots' Danny Amendola set to sign with Dolphins, per report

As first reported by NFL Network's Dan Hellie, Amendola will sign a free agent contract with the Miami Dolphins. Amendola joined Gronkowski in the Patriots receiving corps just as they had started to emerge as legitimate Super Bowl contenders once again prior to the 2013 National Football League season. It could also open the door to Amendola pulling a Josh McDaniels and saying he's going somewhere else in order to entice the Patriots to sweeten the pot.

Previous year was such a disaster for the Miami Dolphins that all pressure will be on in 2018.

Could fans of the New England Patriots soon be singing a sad chorus of 'Arrivederci, 'Dola?' .

Despite missing five games in 2016 with a high ankle sprain, Amendola missed just one game in 2017 with a concussion.

Not bad for a guy who went undrafted out of Texas Tech after playing there for Mike Leach, one of the most inventive coaches around.

Amendola will be the latest addition to a Dolphins receiving core undergoing changes after Jarvis Landry was traded to the Cleveland Browns.

Though it'll hard to replace Landry's overall impact, Amendola and Wilson should do a good enough job to smooth out the transition at a much cheaper cost, collectively. At least make them do that.
