President Trump's Personal Lawyer Calls for Mueller Probe to Be Shut Down

McCabe in a fiery statement on Friday said he was being "singled out and treated this way" because of what he did and saw after former FBI Director Comey was sacked in May 2017, and that the attack on his credibility "is part of a larger effort not just to slander me personally, but to taint the FBI, law enforcement, and intelligence professionals more generally". Sessions, following the recommendation of Federal Bureau of Investigation disciplinary officials, acted two days before McCabe's scheduled retirement date.

Comey, dismissed by the President last May, is readying for the release of his new book, "A Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies, and Leadership". You may scapegoat Andy McCabe, but you will not destroy America. "This move strikes me as very similar". I just think this is outrageous.

James Comey has taken to Twitter for the first time since Andrew McCabe's firing with a direct message for President Trump.

"I am being singled out and treated this way because of the role I played, the actions I took, and the events I witnessed in the aftermath of the firing of James Comey".

"My offer of employment to Mr. McCabe is a legitimate offer to work on election security", Pocan said in a statement.

President Trump's personal attorney John Dowd called on Saturday for Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein to shut down FBI Special Counsel Robert Mueller's Russian Federation probe - coming just hours after ex-FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe was sacked.

Eriksen brace sends Spurs into FA Cup semis
Angel Rangel, Leroy Fer, Renato Sanches, Leon Britton and Wilfried Bony are all ruled out of the historic encounter on Saturday. Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino clearly does not think that the former Juventus star is good enough to start matches.

McCabe, who conducted interviews with several media outlets in advance of his firing, told the New York Times that the allegations against him were "part of an effort to discredit me as a witness" in special counsel Robert Mueller III's probe into whether the Trump campaign coordinated with Russian Federation to influence the 2016 election. Three talking points overwhelmingly arise because of this situation. Asked if he had "ever been an anonymous source in news reports about matters relating to the Trump investigation or the Clinton investigation" or whether he had "ever authorized someone else at the FBI to be an anonymous source in news reports about the Trump investigation or the Clinton investigation", Comey replied "never" and "no". And they have been provided to the special counsel's office. Trump had pushed for his removal a few times publicly and had likely pressured Sessions to do so privately.

McCabe told the Times that his firing was meant to undermine the investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election. If Trump pressured Sessions to fire McCabe, it is a smoking gun for possible obstruction of justice.

McCabe's firing touched off a firestorm late Friday.

Michael R. Bromwich, McCabe's attorney, said Saturday that twitter attacks by Trump and comments by White House press secretary Sarah Sanders are "quite clearly created to put inappropriate pressure on the Attorney General to act accordingly", The Washington Post reported. So it makes sense-howsoever unprecedented-for Sessions to have fired McCabe.

"He has now issued two statements today, one initially saying that he was speaking on behalf of the president and then clarifying later that he was not speaking on behalf of the president, but he was speaking in his own personal capacity".

"While McCabe lashed out at Trump in his statement", Turley said, "he may have just given Trump the long-sought cover to use his pardon power; if McCabe is not charged, Trump could cite that decision as the basis for pardoning Flynn, as a matter of equity and fairness".
