Circus performer falls to his death during Florida show

"Yesterday night, March 17, one of the aerial straps artists of VOLTA by Cirque du Soleil fell during his performance on stage in Tampa".

According to local media reports, Mr Arnaud appeared to lose his grip on a strap before he fell, bringing the show to a halt.

The last two shows, which were scheduled to take place in Tampa Bay Sunday, were canceled.

According to the Times, Arnaud fell during a complex routine with another acrobat as they swung back and forth over the stage. Inna's Instagram check-ins match Volta's tour schedule; and earlier this month, during the show's residency in Tampa, Yann and Inna took a family trip to Walt Disney World in nearby Orlando.

Arnaud, who was from Champigny-sur-Marne, France, and living in Miami, performed the act along with fellow aerialist Pawel Walczewski, who also posted about the hard act on Instagram before the show. "It's time to go for it".

Julian Martinez, who witnessed the accident, told local TV station WFLA: It was bad.

For three decades, Cirque du Soleil has pushed the boundaries of spectacle.

Lamarre told CBC News that Arnaud, originally from France, leaves behind a wife and two young daughters. Acrobat and aerialist Sarah Guillot-Guyard died after a fall during a show at a Las Vegas casino. The Aerial Strap act is considered a relatively safe number for a Cirque show.
