A sophomore was hospitalized for a mental-health evaluation after deputies learned he had posted photos of himself on Snapchat with a gun in his waistband along with images of bullets, according to the sheriff's office. He is now being held on $500,000 bail.

A Broward County grand jury indicted the 19-year-old Cruz earlier this month on 17 counts of premeditated murder in the first degree and 17 counts of attempted murder in the first degree. Governor Rick Scott and Florida legislative leaders made their appointments Tuesday. Scott says he continues to hear from parents who lost their children in the February 14 shooting, and they are still concerned about student safety at the school. "I'm focused on lots of individuals that shouldn't be allowed to go onto a school campus".

Also this week, Broward County sheriff's deputy Moises Carotti, the school's resource officer, was suspended with pay after a student discovered the officer sleeping in his patrol vehicle on Monday.

Local media report a student found Deputy Moises Carotti asleep in his patrol auto outside Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School on Monday.

"Given the developments over the past 24 hours, we will further enhance school safety measures".

The members of the 16-member commission were announced Tuesday. "Up until now, they were not even checking the people who were coming in through the other exits, they just let us walk in without question".

Scott also appointed Ryan Petty and Andrew Pollack to the commission.

The commission will review what happened at Parkland and other mass shootings and make recommendations on how to prevent future attacks.

Broward Schools issued a statement saying they will continue to work with law enforcement regarding these incidents.

Cruz, who shares a mother with the accused gunman, was ordered to have zero contact with his brother.

Judge Kim Theresa Mollica ordered Cruz to be fitted with an ankle monitor should he post bail and told him to stay at least a mile away from the high school in Parkland.

She stills cares for Zachary, she said. To do so, he bypassed the locked doors and gates of the campus and ignored previous warnings by school officials to stay off the property, officials said.

Deschamps was in NY at the time of his arrest, according to prosecutors.

But prosecutors said Zachary Cruz has "all the same flags" as his brother and he's been overheard admiring his brother's popularity during jailhouse visits, the Herald reported.

Nikolas Cruz was living with a different family when the Stoneman Douglas shooting took place.

Broward Schools Superintendent Robert Runcie, however, told a local newspaper there was no security breach.
