'Baahubali 2' surpasses 'Baahubali's lifetime collection in China on Day 1

Surprisingly, the film has embarked on a flying start at the Chinese box office.

Baahubali earned $1.18 mn in China, whereas Baahubali 2 has earned $2.43mn (Rs 16.24-crore) on its opening day in the neighbouring country. On day one, the film has surpassed its prequel Baahubali: The Beginning. Its two-day collection was Rs 34.97 crore, which was marginally better than Baahubali 2.

However, it is to be noted that the epic drama has not fared better than Aamir Khan's Secret Superstar and Irrfan Khan's Hindi Medium. Hindi Medium had collected $3.39 million and Bajrangi Bhaijaan had collected $2.8 million in the past.

You all should know that the movie is released more than 18,000 screens and it became the third highest opener in China for Indian films.

One must also note that Aamir Khan's Dangal opened after Guardians of Galaxy had already had its run at the Chinese box office.

Baahubali 2 was originally released in 2017 and great many people saw it as the film is out on Netflix as well.

Ever since, the people down south were eagerly waiting for the release of Baahubali 2 in the Chinese market.

SS Rajamouli directed the movie and Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka played the lead roles. With the buzz around the film only getting bigger in the coming days and with the weekend upon us, SS Rajamouli's magum opus will set the box office cash registers in China ringing loud and clear.

Now, it will be interesting to see that whether the film crosses the Rs 100-crore mark in China on the first weekend and after it standing in the list of highest grossing Indian films of all time.
