Minecraft's Bedrock Update, Crossplay Coming to Nintendo Switch in June

One of the world's most popular video games is getting a major update on one of the hottest game consoles on the market. "With previously released content like the Super Mario Mash-Up included, players everywhere can experience what it's like when Minecraft meets the Mushroom Kingdom!" Now the "Better Together" update applies to the mobile, VR, PC, and Xbox One versions of the game, with the Switch coming later.

Nintendo has just announced that Minecraft's Better Together update is coming to Nintendo Switch this summer.

The way it works is somewhat unprecedented in gaming.

This is the first Switch title to feature cross-play support with Windows 10 PCs, Xbox One, Android devices, iOS phones and tablets, and VR platforms. Players will also gain access to new mini-games and game modes through online community-run servers. Xbox Live achievements will be enabled on the Nintendo Switch version. Players will be able to make purchases safely and securely with MINECOINs, and all purchases can be enjoyed across every platform on which the Minecraft Marketplace is available. Microsoft introduced the Marketplace in June 2017 and invited 12 community members to become partners.

N++ features 4340 hand-crafted levels, but you can also play hundreds of user-created levels thanks to the in-built tools. Minecraft is one of the best selling games of all time sitting at more than 144 million units sold worldwide across all platforms, including the Switch.

Nintendo Switch Edition has been a big hit as expected and a much-anticipated update is about to hit the game. Current owners will get the upgrade for free, according to Mojang.
