Snapchat is finally reversing the most controversial aspects of its hated redesign

The Snapchat app is displayed on the home screen of an iPhone on May 2, 2018 in San Anselmo, California. But Snapchat's redesign, which it first revealed back in November, was an unmitigated disaster for the company and was even partially blamed for its poor financial results last week. Things only got worse when Kylie Jenner decided that she was "sooo over" the social media site.

Snapchat has rolled back some of its original interface changes to its iOS app for satisfying a vast number of users regarding the recent redesign.

The photo app is releasing an update which will sort Snaps and Chats in chronological order again, rather than arranging them based on the posts it thought readers were most likely to want to see, The Verge reports.

More than a million people signed a petition calling for the 2018 Snapchat update to be reversed, and it appears that the company has finally made a decision to act. "We are now rolling out an update to address this by sorting communication by recency and moving Stories from friends to the right side of the application, while maintaining the structural changes we have made around separating friends from creators and sorting friends' Stories by relationships". Snap acknowledged some of the criticism in February, saying, "We completely understand the new Snapchat has felt uncomfortable for many".

Will this latest redesign appease users?

Saudi Arabia Wants Nuclear Weapon If Iran Acquires One, Minister Says
IranAir had ordered 200 passenger aircraft: 100 from Airbus, 80 from Boeing, and 20 from Franco-Italian turboprop maker ATR. All the deals are dependent on USA licenses because of the heavy use of US parts in commercial planes.

But the public outcry left Snap's advertisers skittish.

The update with the Snapchat redesign was announced by Snap CEO Evan Spiegel in the company's first-quarter earnings call on May 1st.

The company says that it still has work to do to improve the new layout.

At this point in time, the update is rolling out to the "majority" of iOS users with the rest soon to follow. Millennials make up for a huge amount of Snapchat's target user group and, in the past, have proved to be incredibly hard to win back.
