Bangladesh blasted its way into the space age Friday after US company SpaceX launched Dhaka's Bangabandhu-1 satellite into orbit, in a social-media event described by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as a "glorious day" for the South Asian country.

SpaceX successfully fired off the final "Block 5" version of the Falcon 9 reusable rocket.

It is created to be capable of 10 or more flights with very limited refurbishment as SpaceX continues to strive for rapid reusability and extremely high reliability, according to SpaceX's news release. Following stage separation, Falcon 9's first stage successfully landed on "Of Course I Still Love You", SpaceX's droneship stationed in the Atlantic Ocean. The company won't allow for humans onboard until it's flown seven successful launches, but with the rate of SpaceX's overall launch and return success, those seven successful launches could happen sooner than expected. That is, it must not only be as failure-proof as possible, it must also keep all vibrations and accelerations within a narrow envelope to protect the lives of the passengers and crew. SpaceX tweeted a photo of the Falcon 9 as the rocket's first and second stage parted ways. The company also arranged for the spacecraft's launch on the Falcon 9.

The rocket had its share of hangups to get to the successful launch today.

SpaceX is one of two private companies hired by NASA to ferry astronaut crews to the space station. With less than a minute remaining before a scheduled launch, the countdown came to an abrupt stop because of a technical problem that caused an automatic abort. He also said that he hopes to demonstrate the same rocket to be re-launched in a span of 24 hours.
