Chili's announces breach in systems

In a statement, officials said it is believed customers who visited between March and April may be impacted. The statement confirmed that no personal data such as social security numbers or dates of birth was breached as the company does not collect that type of information.

On Saturday, Brinker International also known as Chili's parent company, announced that malware on some of the chain's payment systems may have harvested customers' credit card information.

Customers are advised to contact nationwide credit-reporting agencies Equifax, Experian and Transunion to add a fraud alert statement to their credit file.

Upon learning of this incident, we immediately activated our response plan.

On May 11 we learned that some of our Guests' payment card information from certain restaurants was compromised.
