Right fielder Nicholas Castellanos left Saturday's game after being hit in the hand by a pitch.

Castellanos was hit by a pitch in the first inning and had his left hand checked before going to first base.

They didn't say anything about how long I might be out, but it is broken bad, so there might be surgery, " Cano said after the Mariners' 5-4 loss to the Tigers.

The Mariners announced later Sunday that Cano has a fractured fifth metacarpal.
