Police spokesman Chris Dawson assumes that all of the victims lived in the house in which they were found.

He would only say police were alerted to the shootings by a phone call from a "male person" at the property, who was apparently the killer.

The others are believed to be their 35-year-old daughter Katrina Miles and her four children - daughter Taye, 13, and sons Rylan, 12, Arye, 10, and Kadyn Cockman, eight.

Homicide and forensic crime-scene detectives traveled from Perth to assist in the investigation. "If it wasn't for him, I wouldn't have Katrina, I wouldn't have her kids", Aaron Cockman told reporters today.
