Raazi box office collection Day 3: Alia's film continues its dream run

Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal starrer Raazi has won huge critical acclaim and the hearts of the audiences alike. Made at a budget of Rs35-40 crore, the film which has notched up the fifth highest Hindi film opening weekend of the year so far, is fast adding to its profits.

Movie critic and biz analyst Taran Adarsh on Monday took to social media site Twitter to share the opening weekend collections of the film and wrote, "It's about the all-important Mon..."

The Meghna Gulzar directorial has become Alia's sixth highest grossing first weekend movie after Badrinath Ki Dulhania, 2 States, Shaandaar, Udta Punjab and Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania. Growing with each show, the film had a really strong weekend - Friday - 7.53 crore, Sat - 11.30crore and Saturday- 14.11 crore Total - 32.94 crore. Total: Rs 32.94 crore.

Directed by Meghna Gulzar, Raazi tells the story of a 19-year old girl Sehmat who takes on a mission to pass on classified information from Pakistan, critical to help India win the 1971 Indo-Pak war. Normally, the solo heroine films perform best at city high-end multiplexes but in the cases of Raazi and Mahanati, it has been doing well universally. The film also stars Rajit Kapoor, Soni Razdan, Jaideep Ahlawat in pivotal roles.

After her debut in a Karan Johar film, it was Imtiaz Ali's gripping Highway that displayed the depth of Alia's acting prowess. "I think in Raazi, audience will see me in completely different avatar at least that is my wish because Raazi as a film is very different", Alia had said.
