The Celtics seemingly had their championship hopes derailed following the season-ending injuries to both of their offseason additions in Gordon Hayward and Kyrie Irving.

Without Stevens, who knows where Boston's rebuild would be at the moment. Ask any of the players, and it won't take them long to mention Stevens' ability.

Hall-of-Fame big man Robert Parish is a fan of the job Brad Stevens has done with the Boston Celtics, but wants us to pump the brakes a bit.

And as far as the actual process? Stevens didn't receive one vote, which Isaiah Thomas isn't happy with. And those other guys that get votes, they're unbelievable.

Ryan Reynolds secretly competes in Korean song contest dressed as a unicorn

While Mannix lays out a thorough counter-argument to the Stevens to Duke idea, one has to think it would be on Stevens' radar when the time comes, especially if he has collected an National Basketball Association title by the time Krzyzewski retires. One thing that Al Horford is impressed with is just how well Stevens helps with the young guys. And I think it's a lot more important to just focus on competing with your team rather than trying to compare yourself to others. "I'm telling you, if it gets to be a comparison contest, I'm screwed".

The pool of candidates for the mantel of Coach of the Year mantel is as deep as it's ever been.

"It's silly. The praise is uncomfortable, and it's just something that these guys should be getting it all", Stevens said. So while they may believe multiple coaches are worthy, there's only one option. That decision looks even more perplexing after seeing Boston's coaching staff guide the team through the postseason. The referees often protected Michael Jordan during the Chicago Bulls' six title runs, and much of the Los Angeles Lakers' success came with Jackson having two of the game's top five players at that time at his fingertips in Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal. Do coaches resent the positive attention Stevens gets, despite his relative lack of tenure? "He would get a vote from me", Brown said. I'll give him that.
