"My son stood in the background, hid his phone and watched as they filled these trash cans full of water, and held these raccoons down in trash cans in the cages", the parent told the station.

"They finally took the cage out of the water, and they trapped it into another smaller cage, where the top of the cage would go down into the water", he said.

The woman said one raccoon ate a chicken that students at Forest High school in Ocala, Florida, were raising. "It's bad. It still does make me sick to my stomach". "My friend said that the class before that, they were putting the water in the buckets", he added.

Maier said the school district is "appalled" by the actions of the teacher. "He could have had somebody come and relocate the animals".

Pictures and video recorded by a student show a raccoon in a metal wire trap, which the teacher and students then lifted into a garbage bin while they filled the bin with water from several hoses.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission told Newsweek it is investigating "an incident" that occurred at Forest High School in Marion County involving at least one raccoon and an opossum.

New Italian government put on hold as M5S ask for 'more time'
On Sunday, it seemed like an EU-scaring deal had been struck between the anti-establishment 5Star Movement and far-right League. But Salvini said disagreements were more about policy than personalities.

Marion County School District spokesman Kevin Christian told the Ocala Star Banner the district had "received statements that the teacher drowned multiple animals in front of students, and with student participation, because the animals were nuisance animals to the ag program at the school", and that Dewie Brewton had been removed from class pending an investigation.

Brewton was Forest High School's Teacher of the Year nominee in 2010, according to the Star-Banner. The commission's findings will be sent to prosecutors, who will determine if the teacher will face charges.

'We must focus on all of the extremely positive and life changing things that this man has done for people'.

Although killing raccoons and opossums are not technically against the law, authorities have launched a full-scale investigation into the way in which the animals were killed in this instance.
