Meanwhile, T.I.'s attorney, Steve Sadow - like us and others - referred to him as "Tip" in a statement to WSB-TV.

Tip didn't have his key and allegedly woke up the sleeping guard and got in a verbal spat before the man finally allowed him in to access the couple's home in the Atlanta suburb of Stockbridge.

Earlier today, T.I. was reported to be charged after he got into an altercation with a security guard at the gated community he lives in. The guard refused entry. ip was in contact with "Tiny" by phone and "Tiny" confirmed that Tip should be let in immediately.

Officers reviewed the country club's surveillance video, according to the report, which showed Harris sanding at the guard shack window, leaning inside and yelling at Officer James, repeatedly asking him his name.

He went on to say that while the guard "may have been hurt by my words", there was no physical assault.

Ireland said T.I. and a friend were arrested.

Rapper T.I. is speaking out following his arrest in Georgia on Wednesday, May 16, insisting he was detained over bogus allegations.

Here is the full statement. According to police, T.I.'s friend, 40-year-old Marquinarius Holmes, was arrested on outstanding charges out of Clayton County for not having proof of vehicle insurance. After a while, T.I. and his friend drove off. The officer responded that the guard didn't need to answer his questions, but T.I. essentially said he pays his salary. But. he returned shortly after on foot to confront the security guard again, who then called the police. Sadow also said the police weren't interested in hearing his client's side of the story when they arrived on the scene and "wrongfully chose to end the situation by arresting" him. The rapper has been released on bail.

"To see young people involved with something so important right now - that gives a sense of hope", T.I. said.
