The draft order is set, as the Suns have been granted the number one overall pick in the NBA Draft.

The second pick will to the Sacramento Kings, while the Atlanta Hawks will go third in the draft, which takes place on June 21. You don't need to follow the NBA closely to know that Sacramento is basketball Siberia, a franchise with an owner who has made many silly decisions in recent years, and a front office that appears clueless.

More pressure came to bear on Cleveland, which acquired the last pick from the Brooklyn treasure trove as part of last summer's Kyrie Irving trade, and had to feel it was one year too late for the lottery. Four teams are still playing, but for 14 of the other 26 franchises, all eyes were glued to a different program presented by the Association.

Winning the lottery means that the Suns will now have to make arguably the most important decision in their history, as they will have to evaluate the prospects who have entered the draft and determine which one is going to be the best fit for their team moving forward.

Now maybe Doncic is just saying the right things - I'm focused on this weekend, not the National Basketball Association, I'm not even thinking about the National Basketball Association!

The Suns went 21-61 this season, registering the worst record in the league as they tanked with admirable dedication.

In case you missed it, the NBA Draft Lottery was on last night. Now, the task of picking which talented college player they will take has begun.

Essentially, the idea of the lottery is each team is given certain odds based on their regular season schedule.

Next up is Luka Doncic (6-8, 220 lbs) from Slovenia. Instead, LA will be able to offer a team both lottery picks - and a player or two - for an established star.

Top EuroLeague prospects have been drafted high before and intentionally delayed their departure, such as Ricky Rubio, who was drafted fifth overall in 2009 but didn't come to the States until 2011. The team has been rebuilding for far too long as they are now in their longest playoff drought in franchise history.

Arizona freshman center Deandre Ayton is widely expected to be a strong candidate to go No. 1 overall, and he was at the lottery to watch the Suns win the pick. Josh Jackson was the team's first-round pick a year ago and is expected to develop, but outside of those two players, there are a whole lot of question marks.

"My sense is we're still going to have some work to do", NBA Commissioner Adam Silver said.

Phoenix officially will select Nos.

"At the same time, he'll want us to draft the best player, whoever we think the best player is, whoever stands out throughout the process".
