Ariana Grande has opened up recently about how she has been affected by the suicide bombing that took place at one of her concerts at Manchester Arena a year ago, killing 23 people including the bomber himself.

They included the Manchester Survivors Choir, made up of people who were at the arena on the night of the fateful concert last May 22, and Parrs Wood High School's Harmony Group, whose post-attack tribute went viral a year ago. "I love you with all of me and am sending you all of the light and warmth I have to offer on this challenging day", she wrote along with a worker bee emoticon which is widely used to represent the city as a symbol of industry.

The finale was a mass 30-minute communal singalong including Don't Look Back In Anger by Oasis, One Day Like This by Elbow, Ariana Grande's One Last Time, Never Forget by Take That and The Beatles' All You Need Is Love.

May, writing Tuesday in the Manchester Evening News, said the targeting of the young and innocent as they enjoyed a care free night out in the Manchester Arena was an act of sickening cowardice.

"All our thoughts today are with those who lost their loved ones and best friends", said Lord Mayor June Hitchen before the performances began, also paying tribute those who suffered psychological trauma and the emergency services which responded to the bombing - to massive applause from the crowd.

So, it seems fitting the crowd remembered the tragic day with music. Grande suspended her Dangerous Woman Tour after the bombing and returned for the One Love Manchester charity concert weeks later, which raised funds for victims of the attack.

Meanwhile, Prince William remembered the 22 victims of the Manchester bombing by attending the Manchester Arena National Service of Commemoration at Manchester Cathedral, according to the reports. 'Today they are one year into living with those life-changing injuries, with many decades of continuing to do so lying ahead of them'. Salman Abedi, a British man of Libyan heritage, blew himself up outside the venue, which had been hosting a concert by teen pop idol Ariana Grande.

Afterwards, Prince William met privately with some of the bereaved families and left a handwritten message on a Tree of Hope.
