Even Brandi Chastain acknowledged the plaque's shortcomings during the reception. One might say she even deserves a plaque that resembles her instead of an abominable Rex Ryan-lookin' effort.

Her bronze plaque, on the other hand, does not.

San Francisco Chronicle sports columnist Ann Killion felt both descriptions by the San Jose soccer couple were a major understatement.

Some thought it looked more like Mickey Rooney, or Gary Busey.

"It's not the most flattering", Chastain said on stage at a San Francisco hotel, according to the Mercury News. But when her Hall of Fame plaque was unveiled, the likeness looked nothing like Chastain.

Chastain was inducted Monday into the Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame.

"It's expensive", the hall's president, Kevin O'Brien, told the Bay Area's KTVU.

The real question about this is whether or not the plaque is better or worse than that infamous Ronaldo bust that took the internet by storm previous year.

'I am not happy with it either and I made the offer to redo it when I spoke to Brandi this morning, ' O'Brien said.

"I want people to focus on what the Hall of Fame really does for our community and youth sports", Chastain said.

'The most important thing is that we want to make Brandi Chastain happy.
