Police have identified the man who allegedly opened fire in a restaurant Thursday and was later killed by bystanders as 28-year-old Alexander C. Tilghman.

The man suspected of shooting three people inside an Oklahoma City restaurant before being fatally shot by bystanders had no criminal record or obvious connection to the victims or the restaurant, police said Friday.

In all, officials say there were four people who were injured as a result of the shooting. Police later confirmed a fourth victim with a minor injury.

Police Captain Bo Mathews told reporters the shooting started when the suspect, a man, walked into the busy restaurant and began firing at around 6:30 p.m. CT.

The suspect entered Louie's Bar and Grill during evening service and opened fire on patrons, before the armed civilian confronted him.

A woman and a female juvenile were undergoing surgery for gunshot wounds, but apparently "are going to survive", Capt. He said they were at the restaurant for a birthday party for another granddaughter.
