"But I will be clear, we will go with Nabil to Liverpool or elsewhere when there is an agreement with Lyon and if [owner] Jean-Michel Aulas gives the green light".

Even still, it appears that manager Jurgen Klopp is going for "overkill", as French global Fekir looks set for an Anfield move this transfer window, just a medical to go.

On Saturday evening, reports from France claimed that Nabil Fekir was due in Melwood for a medical but the Liverpool Echo reports that such claims were wide of the mark.

With Fabinho already signed up and Naby Keita's move from RB Leipzig agreed a year ago, Jurgen Klopp's latest renewal of the team is starting to take shape.

While Liverpool's interest is obvious, the club has responded to the above rumour by denying that Fekir is set for a medical.

Last week, Reds legend Jan Molby said that a deal should be tied up before this summer's World Cup in Russian Federation.

As a result, it's become unclear as to whether Liverpool will be able to secure any deal with Fekir before the World Cup kicks off in Russian Federation.

Liverpool are looking to boost their squad in order to improve on last season which saw them finish fourth in the Premier League while also reaching the Champions League final - thanks to the form of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane.

Nevertheless, there was some good news for Kopites with Bernes noting: "There is no contact with Bayern".

Speaking about the recent speculation linking Fekir with a move to Liverpool, the player's agent said, "I did not leave Marseille (this weekend)".

Bernes' update will prove a little frustrating for fans and it's looking increasingly likely that the World Cup final will precede any potential deal. Let us know in the comments section.
