‘Battlefield V’ Royale & Multiplayer Trailer Revealed at EA Play

His tweet seems lighthearted enough, but considering how PUBG Corp. and Greene have responded in the past to games joining in on the fun with new battle royale modes, it would make sense that he's not too happy with Battlefield joining Call of Duty with the new mode. The EA Play Live Press Conference 2018 kicked things off with Battlefield V with a brand new trailer that shows gameplay in action. The developers also discussed how Battlefield V will feature more innovation, more impactful mechanics, and more freedom to customize your characters than ever before.

So, no loot boxes in Battlefield 5.

The news was confirmed today at publisher EA's E3 press conference, introduced by developers from DICE as simply "royale", and as something fans have been asking for.

The popular game dev took to Twitter to welcome the "old friend" to the Battle Royale business, in all caps, with a "less than three" heart capped at the end. We caught up with DICE creative director Lars Gustavsson at the EA Play event today in Hollywood and asked him where the idea came from.

It was reiterated that Battlefield V will not include a premium pass program that the previous installments offered, and its release date is set for October 19, 2018.
