Senate approves pot bill with dozens of amendments

The Senate voted 56-30 on third reading of Bill C-45, which would lift Canada's 95-year-old prohibition on the recreational use of marijuana. The legislation would allow states to pursue liberalized marijuana policies as they see fit, they said.

In January, Sessions rescinded Obama-era guidance that urged federal prosecutors to refrain from targeting state-legal marijuana operations.
