She has spent the last 21 years at a federal prison in Aliceville, Alabama. It happened on Wednesday, a week after her sponsor, Kim Kardashian met with the president on Alice's behalf.

Johnson had her life sentence commuted on Wednesday by President Trump after spending 22 years behind bars.

Trump wished Johnson good luck in a Thursday morning tweet, in which he told her to "have a wonderful life".

Now she is back with her family.

Johnson became reunited with her family, and she was full of thanks to both Kardashian and President Trump.

"He said, 'Why are you here?' I said, 'Really I'm here because I want to know why you kicked Khloe off The Apprentice.' It was a laugh and it was amusing and then we got into business", Kim said.

"I'm feeling no handcuffs on me. Once Alice's family joined the call, the tears never stopped flowing", she said. She was tried on charges of cocaine conspiracy and money-laundering charges.

Ms Johnson's commutation of sentence is the sixth act of clemency granted by Mr Trump since he took office and the second one issued after a celebrity had appealed to him.

Speaking of Kardashian West, Johnson added, "Bless Kim, our little angel".

"Her commutation is inspirational & gives hope to so many others who are also deserving of a second chance", she continued. "The only thing I can do is to make him proud that I he did it and not disappoint him", she said.
