EA has announced their new Command & Conquer game on the mobile phone

The last entry was Command & Conquer 4: Tiberian Twilight, released on March 16, 2010.

Fans have wanted a new Command and Conquer for many years now and EA has finally somewhat listened to them.

Electronic Arts unveiled Command & Conquer: Rivals, the unexpected revival of the classic Command & Conquer franchise that brings the real-time strategy series to mobile phones.

Command and Conquer, the iconic PC RTS that popularised one of the most influential genres of the '90s, is now a mobile game named Command & Conquer Rivals. Like its predecessors, Command & Conquer: Rivals features fog of war, which adds another strategic element to keep track of. While a release date has yet to be seen, according to the publisher's blog post they are kicking off the Pre-Alpha today which is open to Android users in the U.S. and Canada. Command and Conquer Rivals will release on iOS and Android, with the pre-alpha version being available on Android today.

EA announced the new mobile title alongside Anthem and a battle royale mode for Battlefield V at the EA Play event in Los Angeles. Is this a game that you would like to play? We haven't watched the following gameplay preview, because, well, we value our sanity. The gameplay revolves around capturing and holding three control points in the middle of the map, with majority control of the points granting the player control over the large missile tube in the center of the map. Taking over the site will launch a missile at your opponent's base. But enemies can take over your launch pads without the countdown resetting.
