IHOP reveals the ‘b’ in its new name, IHOb, stands for burgers

As promised on June 7, the restaurant chain formerly known as IHOP announced the reason behind its name change on Monday, June 11.

The company revealed Monday what the "b" stands for - it's burgers.

The "B" in question, of course, was that at the end of world renowned pancake emporium IHOP's announced new moniker, IHOB.

"IHOP changed their name to IHOB for BURGERS, Nobody asked for this", one user wrote.

Some locations in the States actually went as far as changing their signs, but we anticipate they'll be back to normal when this promotion runs its course.

Rebelez also said that the menu shake-up and temporary new name was a "high-risk maneuver". On its website, the company featured a countdown clock for when the "b" would be revealed.

Starting today, you can order one of seven burgers at IHOb restaurants across the country.

The now International House of Burgers formally made the announcement on Twitter with a video message: "Dear Internet, we abbreciate your batience". When asked if IHOP was considering food-fusion menu items - remember Burger King's Whopperito or Taco Bell's Nacho Fries?

Still, it's worth wondering why IHOP is going through all this trouble.

"Is it global house of buttermilk pancakes".

The chain has been known as IHOP since 1958, when the first restaurant opened in Toluca Lake, California.
