Musk was happily tweeting away from the so-called "pick-up party".

KitGuru Says: At the very least, Musk is allowing himself to run wild with his ideas in the Boring Company and there's no telling what the mad man genius will end up doing next.

What started as an online gag has turned into a marketing ploy worth millions - with the first 1,000 customers receiving the flamethrower - that promotes the Boring Co., Musk's endeavor to build underground transportation tunnels.

Just in time for Father's Day, Elon Musk's tunneling construction company began handing out its first batch of $500 flamethrowers this weekend. The company took orders for 20,000 flamethrowers, selling out. At $500 each, the flamethrowers brought in $10 million.

Musk tweeted what he claimed was the terms and conditions for the machines, some of which were presented in the style of the USA children's author Dr. Seuss.

It continued: 'I will not use this in a house, I will not point this at my spouse, I will not use this in an unsafe way, The best use is créme brulee'.

Legendary fried chicken purveyor Church's Chicken posted an Instagram photo that poked fun at the IHOP name change buzz. Turkel said the new name may get consumers to think of IHOP as an establishment that serves more than a breakfast meal.

Some critics questioned the pomp surrounding the Singapore summit, saying it unduly elevated North Korea's rogue regime. The talks - unimaginable just a few months ago - will focus on North Korea's controversial nuclear programme.

Strictly speaking, Musk's creation is not actually a flamethrower because it only shoots fire for a short distance.

"In a flawless world, I don't see any reason why anybody needs something like this out of a legitimate commercial use". He has advertised the flamethrowers as "guaranteed to liven up any party", drawing a huge reaction online.

An instruction manual for the gun is also available on eBay for $250 (£187).

As of Monday morning, multiple eBay listings show the device for anywhere between $US2,250 and $US5,000.

As shown in Musk's tweeted pictures, hundreds lined up at the pickup site in Los Angeles to get their purchases and pose for pictures as flames licked out from the flamethrowers' barrels. Plus, The Boring Company said it is going to donate $10,000 to California Wildfire Relief Fund. Here's a closer look at Musk's many ventures and projects.
