So it was a real surprise when Catherine and her two eldest children, George and Charlotte, were photographed attending the Maserati Royal Charity Polo match in Gloucester on Sunday, in support of dad William.

The four-year-old prince, who makes us go aww with his mischievous expressions, was standing alongside Princess Charlotte and cousin Savannah Phillips, who were busy enjoying the show.

Prince George, who reportedly already has a big interest in the police, also had a toy knife and a pair of handcuffs.

Savannah, George and Charlotte are clearly firm friends, so we'll expect to see more cute cousin moments from them in the future.

"See a lot of talk in the media about Prince George playing with a toy gun".

While Charlotte left us gushing over how adorable she looked even while crying, after she fell from the bench on the Buckingham Palace's balcony, one can not ignore Prince George's naughty antics.

The family were pictured as The Duke of Cambridge took part in the Maserati Royal Charity Polo Trophy at Beaufort Polo Club in Tetbury, Gloucestershire, on Sunday afternoon.

The royals' casual outing came just one day after they played a formal role at Trooping the Colour, the official celebration of Queen Elizabeth's 92nd birthday.

George also spent a good portion of time playing with a giant rainbow-coloured slinky, and chasing his younger sister around.

But photos immediately after show Kate was actually running to greet England polo player Malcolm Borwick, who appeared to be beckoning her from beside the white marquees a few metres from the grass bank.

But while many criticized the fact that the little prince was allowed to play with a plastic gun, the debate has been ongoing as others have risen to the defense of children playing with such toys.

The royals were out in force for the Trooping the Colour.
