With the prequel for 2003's Beyond Good & Evil having been stuck in development hell for over a decade, telltale signs of its release have kept the embers of hope glowing for fans of the cult classic, and at E3, Ubisoft has deemed that the time is right to share another trailer with us. Though, one of the major twists that played out in the trailer showed Jade-the protagonist from the original Beyond Good & Evil-to be this game's antagonist.

The plan is to invite the community to help create music, artwork and radio segments which will feature throughout Beyond Good & Evil 2's world through HitRecord. In Beyond Good & Evil 2, you are your own space pirate captain and you are free to choose your own path in this vast open universe. Inside, we see a couple of crew members, including Pey'J - who you may remember as Jade's pig-like uncle from the original Beyond Good & Evil - serving as the ship's chef. We get a glimpse at the ship's sick bay, which is filled with crew members who've fallen sick and drunk from the cook's "miraculous space chili". This new initiative to pull in organic content has appropriately been given the name The Space Monkey Project.
