Michael Cohen, the longtime personal lawyer of Donald Trump, was preparing to part ways with the legal team that has been representing him in federal court in NY, according to multiple reports Wednesday.

Cohen has reportedly made the decision as his lawyers race toward a Friday deadline to complete a privilege review of documents seized from his home and office in April.

After FBI agents raided Cohen's office in April, Ryan and his NY partner, Todd Harrison, went to court to try to keep investigators from seeing some of the confiscated files on the grounds that they were protected by attorney client privilege. Cohen, a 51-year-old father of two college-age children, recently told friends he expected to be arrested at any moment, Vanity Fair reported.

But as the investigation widens, and with Cohen's legal team in turmoil, the chances increase that Cohen could cooperate with prosecutors.

The firm's spokesperson did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Investigators seized 3.7 million records in the raid, which Cohen's defense team argued he should have the first look at.
