A raccoon scurries up the side of the UBS Tower in St. Paul, Minn.

It's safe to assume at this point, the raccoon wants nothing more than to get safely home-and we're rooting for him all the way there.

Technicians took the caged raccoon down a freight elevator to a truck, according to Wildlife Management Services, which provides animal control services for the city.

Later on Tuesday night it climbed back down to the 17 floor, before eventually scrambling back up to the top.

On Twitter, they're calling #MPRraccoon "The hero we never knew we needed". "I don't think the raccoon realized when it started climbing what it was in for".

Tickets are available online at saintsbaseball.com and at the Saints Box Office starting at 9 a.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. on Saturdays. The raccoon was safely lured into a cat food-baited trap and taken off the building.

On Tuesday, the raccoon slowly scaled the building, reaching the 23rd floor as its legend grew on social media with every floor it climbed.

The mammal was spotted by Tim Nelson, a Minnesota Public Radio reporter, who has been relentlessly tweeting about the progress in the raccoon's movements. He said the animal had been stranded on the building for at least two days.

This item has been corrected to show the building is called UBS Plaza, not UBS Tower. Wildlife Management Services provides animal control services for St. Paul. Around 2:30 a.m., the raccoon scaled the top of the UBS building and the experts were there to capture it.

Locals have deemed the animal "Spider-Raccoon", per Minnesota Public Radio News.

The animal became a bit of a star on social media as people began to cheer on the creature during its attempt to summit the building.

The climb seemed gravity-defying to those with an up-close view, earning it the nickname "spider-raccoon".
