Warner Bros. did not specify how Steve Trevor (who seemingly died in the first film set in World War I) is returning. Wonder Woman is a bright light in the DCEU's catalog. It stars Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Pine as Steve Trevor, Kristen Wiig as the villain Cheetah, and Pedro Pascal in an unknown role. This is speculation at this point in time, but a title like 1984 sure does spark a lot of ideas about what will take place when Wonder Woman 2 hits theaters.
